Student Parking Lots, Olympic College
Bremerton and Shelton, Washington
The Lincoln Avenue Project provides for a new 118 space parking lot for Olympic college adjacent to the Bremerton campus. Washington Engineering provided design and construction support services including:
- Topographic survey of the 1.4 acre site
- Hydrologic studies for establishing flowrates for the 6-month, 2-year, 10-year, 25-year and 100-year storm events per the King County Stormwater Manual
- Design of asphalt pavement and concrete walkways
- Design of Lighting systems for the general parking area and pedestrian walkways
- Design of storm drainage system including catch basins, piping, a detention vault and a leaf compost filter system
- Coordination of environmental review and permitting with the City of Bremerton
- Traffic study of adjacent arterial
The Shelton Campus Project provided for the expansion of an existing parking lot at the Shelton campus of Olympic College by 116 spaces, and included installation of a modular classroom facility. Washington Engineering provided design and construction support services including:
- Hydrologic studies for establishing flowrates for the 6-month, 2-year, 10-year, 25-year and 100-year storm events per the Department of Ecology Stormwater Manual for the Puget Sound Basin
- Modification and upgrade of existing storm drainage system, icluding expasnsion of bio-swales and the detention pond to accommodate additional runoff
- Extension of utilities to provide service to new mobile classroom building
- Coordination of environmental review and permitting with the City of Shelton
Both projects included Construction Support, including review of contractor submittals, processing of “requests for information”, progress reviews, change order management, and review of contractor payment requests.
