Relocate Port Construction Services (PCS) Offices
SeaTac, Washington
Port Construction Services is the part of the Port of Seattle, which functions as a general construction contractor to the Aviation and Marine tenants, and agencies of the Port of Seattle. PCS employs approximately __ skilled laborers, craftsmen, and construction managers. PCS was occupying 5000 SF of office space in two separate locations, one group at Fisherman’s Terminal in Ballard, and one group in office space in SeaTac. The purpose of this project was to relocate the PCS staff to one larger, 12,000 SF office space at the Kilroy Airport Center in SeaTac, which could accommodate their recent growth.
Washington Engineering performed a complete inventory of office furniture and equipment that was owned or leased by PCS, and analyzed future requirements for furniture and equipment, performed field investigation and created as-built drawings of the new office space.
Washington Engineering created a space plan for the new office, and performed a code analysis. The new office space was not equipped with fire sprinklers, and in addition to service plumbing, Washington Engineering created an economical sprinkler system design, working with the tenant, landlord, and City of SeaTac building inspectors.

Washington Engineering designed an electrical retrofit, as well as a LAN and phone system, design, scheduling of the office move, and permitting with the City of SeaTac.
As part of the project closeout, Washington Engineering created Emergency Fire Exit Diagrams as requested by the PCS Safety Officer, Communications/LAN As-Built Drawings for the Port of Seattle Information Technology Group, and As-Built Record Drawings for the City of SeaTac.
