Animal Intelligence Software (AIS) is a software products training and technical support marketing firm which creates software for veterinary medicine. Summary and Scope of ProjectThis project consists of production of contract documents for construction of a tenant lease space, furniture selection, interior design and construction administration for an existing building. The space which is defined by the lease consists of a second floor tenant leased space of 2,064 square feet. This project includes approximately 1/8th of the building space. Concept for PlanA plan was developed to expresses the recognition that the people who work here are important above other possible organization concepts. Therefore, work spaces are democratic, and access to natural light is egalitarian. This plan was developed to encourage specific informal office communications utilizing the “water cooler” and the “copy machine” as stereotypical for informal gathering and communication. This recognition states that “pressure cooker” working conditions can be balanced with an office culture which allows social behavior. Also, as training functions represent an opportunity to reinforce corporate identity, the training function which is also a “pressure cooker” fronts on informality by opening directly into the center of this design. To “loosen” the overall image of business, some curved walls but especially ceiling treatment that may consist of creating the illusion of a lower ceiling over specific functions will be developed [Reception Area, Employee Break/Lunch Area, and Contact areas]. These occur in contrast to a majority of the ceiling spaces that will predominantly be open. Additionally, specific focus reinforced by art (fused glass) are included in four locations. The front entry was designed to contrast with an otherwise “functional” corridor. Key Project Features:
