Building Renovation Projects at McChord Air Force Base: Washington Engineering Projects
Indefinite Delivery Services Seattle District Corps of Engineers

Washington Engineering personnel provided multi-disciplinary A/E services at McChord AFB for the following projects:

Add/Alter Aircraft Parking Apron at McChord AFB - Design of a 21,000 square yard concrete apron extension, with associated utilities relocations and installation of taxiway lighting and general area security lighting. Pavement designed with a 10-inch depth to support A10 aircraft.

Add/Alter Taxiways at McChord AFB - Design of a 1500 foot long aircraft tow road, widening of an existing 50 foot wide substandard taxiway to 75 feet with paved shoulders, joint sealing of a hazardous cargo pad and design of a 25' by 200' addition to a hazardous cargo pad.

WRSK/AGS Parts Storage Facility at McChord AFB - Complete architectural and engineering design of a 10,000 sf, high bay warehouse facility. The facility consists of a concrete foundation and slab on grade, insulated masonry walls and a standing seam metal roof.

Alter Corrosion Control Facility at McChord AFB - This project completely renovates 6,000 sf of space in an existing aircraft hangar facility to convert the facility to a regional aircraft corrosion control facility for the Washington Air National Guard. Interior structural, mechanical and electrical systems are demolished and replaced with new facilities.

Alter Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) Facility at McChord AFB - This project completely renovates 6,000 sf of space in an existing aircraft hangar facility to convert the facility for maintenance work on A10 aircraft. Interior structural, mechanical and electrical systems are demolished and replaced with new facilities.

Design Ancillary Explosives Facility at McChord AFB - This project provides 1500 feet of access road, a 10,000 sf concrete pad and a pre- engineered metal structure to support bomb buildup work for A10 aircraft weapons assembly.
