Hazardous Material Receipt/Reuse Center 
McChord Air Force Base, Washington
McChord Air Force Base requested Architectural and Engineering Services to provide a 980 sf office addition for the EC Hazardous Material Receipt/Reuse Center. We provided preliminary, intermediate, and final designs which included drawings in AutoCAD format, specifications, and cost estimates.
Design features of this project included:
- Widening access road from 12' to 24' and providing parking areas on the north and south sides of building.
- Civil site design to tie into existing utilities; water, sewer, and site drainage.
- Seismic analysis of building.
- Addition of a new women's toilet, including domestic water piping, sanitary DWV piping, plumbing fixtures, and piping insulation.
- Providing an open-sided prefabricated, pre- engineered metal building in the outdoor storage area on hazardous waste containment area.
- Alteration and extension of fire protection sprinkling to support the building addition.
- Replacement of the existing heating and ventilation system with a larger system to serve existing and new office spaces and provide exhaust for women's toilet.
- Exterior electrical design to relocate pad- mounted transformer and relocate underground primary and secondary service.
- Interior electrical design for lighting, power, convenience outlets, fire detection and alarm, telephone, and emergency lighting.
- Landscape design including automatic irrigation system.
