Air Force Projects, Indefinite Delivery Contract

McChord Air Force Base and Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington
Washington Engineering personnel provided multi-disciplinary A/E services throughout Western Washington for the following US Air Force Projects:
Modernization of the In-Flight Kitchen at McChord AFB - This project involved modernization of the kitchen in Building 1419 at McChord AFB, including removal of existing kitchen equipment, repairs to the building structure, design changes to install new equipment and specifications to procure new kitchen equipment.
Addition to Fleet Service Facility at McChord AFB - This project designed a 1600 square foot addition to the Fleet Service Facility in Building 1419 at McChord AFB. The addition included architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical modifications to the facility. Civil site work was designed to reroute utilities and paved areas.
Installation of ALCM Fuel Tank at Fairchild AFB - This project involved design of a 7000 gallon underground tank to support defueling of Air Launched Cruise Missiles. The tank was added to an existing system and included underground piping, pumping controls and remote tank level indication and associated civil, mechanical and electrical work to connect to the existing facilities.
Construction of Jet Engine Test Cell Pad at McChord AFB - This project was site adaptation of a standard Air Force design for a T-9 jet engine test facility. The project included design of an above ground 10,000 gallon JP-4 fuel tank and underground piping, design of a 350 square foot administrative operations facility, demolition of the existing jet engine test cell and extension of site utilities to the project area as well as design of an asphalt paved access road.
Installation of Six Oil Water Separators at McChord AFB - This project involved the design of oil/water separators and grit chambers at six separate sites at McChord AFB. Drainage areas were primarily in highly industrialized areas of the base which had high potential for discharge of oil contaminated storm water to Clover Creek. Design included associated storm water runoff studies. Since the oil/water separators are installed in existing storm drainage systems, the projects involved changes to the existing storm drain lines and rerouting of some lines to collect and treat the maximum amount of storm water prior to discharge.
Installation of Waste Oil Collection Tank - This project involved the design and installation of a 2000 gallon waste oil collection tank with remote tank level indication at the Auto Hobby Shop, Building 1120 at McChord AFB. The tank was designed as a vaulted single wall steel tank with double wall direct buried piping.
All of these projects included preparation of drawings, specifications, cost estimates and design analyses in accordance with the Seattle District Corps of Engineers A/E Guide.
