Indefinite Delivery Abbreviated Design Services for DEH

Washington Engineering personnel provided multi-disciplinary A/E services for the following projects:
Abbreviated Design of Pest Control Storage Facilities for Fort Lewis and the Yakima Training Center - Design of a 3,000 sf Pest Control Facility for construction at Fort Lewis and a 2,406 sf facility at the Yakima Training Center. Both facilities consist of a pre-engineered metal building which is positioned on a concrete foundation and floor slab. Specific features have been included for pesticide and herbicide storage and mixing. Vehicle bays are provided for parking/loading vehicles and a washdown bay is also provided.
Abbreviated Design for Addition/Renovation of Crash Rescue Fire Station, Gray Army Airfield- Design of a 6,000 sf masonry and structural steel addition, including a high bay vehicle parking bay, to the fire station (Building 3081). The work is for preparation of an abbreviated design and includes preparation of cost estimates using the PULSAR software.
Abbreviated Design for Replacement of Grandstaff Library Roof - This work order provides abbreviated design services to replace an existing composition roof with a structural steel support system, a sloped standing seam metal roof on the library, heat detector fire protection system, and includes specific features to reduce water infiltration into the building.
Abbreviated design for Repair of Housing Area Carport Vents - This work order prepared a design for sealing vents in the carport areas of 725 military family housing units which were found to be a fire hazard. Work included field investigations, asbestos and lead paint sampling, design of a fire rated closure system and preparation of cost estimates for each housing area using the PULSAR software.
Support was also provided for negotiation with the JOC contractor.
Asbestos Survey for Various Buildings at Fort Lewis - This Work Order provided for asbestos surveys in 71 buildings to support work scheduled for late FY93 contract awards. Performance was required in a 21day period to meet the Fort Lewis schedules.
Survey Roofs for Various Buildings at Fort Lewis - This Work Order provided a study for roofing repairs to six buildings, comprising about 218,000 sf of roofing surfaces. In conjunction with this work, Washington Engineering personnel subcontracted with another firm to perform infrared scanning and core sampling of the roof surfaces to determine the location of leaks and saturated insulation.
Maintenance and Repair of Commissary, Building 5275 - This Work Order provided for renovation of walls, doors, ceilings and floors in the Grocery, Meat, Produce and Bakery Departments of the Commissary. Work also included installation of handicap stalls and lighting in public restrooms, upgrade of electrical system and emergency lighting, interior and exterior painting, carpeting, repairs to roof, and repairs to water mixers and storage coolers.
